She watched this quietly, and gingerly placed her hand on his when it touched her lips. She nodded softly to what the vampire spoke of. She watched him soundlessly for a moment, her emerald eyes deep and endless in their color as her hand rested on his for a few moments. Then she heard the vampire, and she pulled back just softly.
"Things change... It's life and Destiny." She spoke out. She pulled at her basket, producing a loaf of bread. She didn't know what wolves ate. She was just going out on a limb for once. She looked back at the vampire for a moment, before taking the wolf's hand and sitting down, wondering if he would sit down with her. She broke the bread in two, and offered him the larger half, wondering what he would do with it. It seemed they were embarking on a journey never before traveled.
She touched his hand comfortingly, a light smile on her face to assure him it was alright. She was speaking more through touch and facial expressions now. Trying to seem warm and comforting and understanding... it was hard, when one could not communicate through words to him. [/color]

He was embrace in coldness. The singer held him and he didn't understand. But... there was so much touch! And surely that was good? He recriprocated the gesture hesitantly and wrapped his long, dark arms around the creature. It felt... good. Good. Such a gesture... it was close. It was trusting. At any moment, he could have stolen this creature's life, but the creature did not fear him. And he did not fear the creature. And it felt good.
A thing was held out to him. He looked up at the green, and then at the thing. It was brown. It was small. A rock? He looked at the green. He looked at the rock. He didn't understand. What was the purpose of a rock? Rocks were hard and sharp. To step on the or fall on them would lose him red. When they were thrown, they could kill. Rocks did not taste good. They crumbled in the mouth and made the throat bleed. Rocks were pain. Then he understood. Green held the pain away. Green did not like pain. He did not want Green to hurt. He wanted to protect the creature. So, he took the rock and he stood, and he dropped it into the river. Could the water wash away pain, like it did life and death?

The Singer watched the wolf confusingly take the bred, and standing upright, he tossed it in the water. The eyes of the vampire widened and his mouth hung open in disbelief, what on earth was he doing? Did he not smell what it smelt of? No... He was human now, he could not smell so good. Before water could even soak past the crust, his white hand darted in and snatched the object, and he smiled at the wolf-man. Standing up, he tore a small piece off. "Eat." He said gently, and pressed it to the man's lips. He himself bit the tiniest piece off and swallowed it, though his stomach protested. He had to show him it was food...
Food did not set well with him, he never put it in his mouth for so long, so now it was a foreign sinsation, but one he accepted non the less. He followed the girl's example, to smile and touch, and hoped he was doing it right...

She almost laughed when he threw it in the water, shaking her head softly. "I guess I'm going to have to get used to communicating better." She blinked as she watched the vampire show him to 'eat'. She reached over, and broke herself off a small piece, slipping it between her pale lips and smiling softly. Overhead, the sky was growing darker, stars glittering like holes punched through a canopy.
She leaned back, and suddenly yawned softly. Rubbing her eyes with one hand, the poor girl looked rather exhausted. It had been a long day, but she opened her eyes and looked at them both as strange sounds echoed around them from the coming of nighttime. She was told to never... NEVER be in the forest at nighttime, and this insecurity made her scoot closer to them both, glancing around into the impending darkness.

The rock was pressed to his lips and he was surprised at how soft it was. Such a soft rock! And the singer had that look, that air that told him... this rock was Good. The creature put a piece of the rock into its own mouth. It chewed and it swallowed. Sustenance.
He let the rock slip between his lips and into his mouth. He hated it. It was dry and it was cold and it was... disgusting. It tasted like dirt. His nose crinkled at the soft dirt-rock and he spat it out and swiped his hand across his tongue multiple times. He knew what sustenance tasted like. Sustenance was warm, hot. It was slick. It was thick. It was wet and dripping. It was red. His nostrils flared in sudden acknowledgment to his hunger and he groaned. His stomach seemed to cave in on itself, painfully empty. He needed the red. He needed the life of another.
His ears alerted him to movement, and he saw the green creature shift closer to him. This creature, who was both red on the outside and the inside- was so very close to him. So trusting of him. This trust... he had thought it "good". It was not good... But... No, it was. This trust was good. It would take nearly no effort at all to kill the little defenseless prey. His claws may be gone, but he was strong. He could bash its head in with a rock. He could snap its neck or rip its head from its body. And once the creature was dead, he could make quick work of the corpse before it began to have any distasteful stench. If he could have his teeth sharp again, he could easily rip the raw meat right from the bones of the creature and slurp the pulsing blood from the exposed veins in the muscles. He could rip out its throbbing heart with his teeth and shred it into strips. The creature would taste immeasurably delicious. And now, it was that which he craved. He wanted to taste the blood of that creature. Steal its red. Devour its life...
The eyes of that creature glanced about nervously, the same behavior with which normal prey usually acted. They feared for their life before they could see him. How wise they were: they knew they were to die. This creature seemed to sense its impending death. All the better. Fear increased the heartbeat and spread blood increasingly throughout the body. He liked his prey to be afraid. A predatory grin began to spread its way across his face... but it froze. The eyes of this creature! He had seen that color again. That color... that Green. That amazing color of hope. Of new life. Of something more than just survival... And he was horrified. He had wanted to destroy hope. Could he really destroy hope?
He could. He would.
He wouldn't be able to help himself. He could barely stop himself from reaching over the short distance between him and his prey and ripping out the throat of the green-eyed creature right now. His fingers gouged deep scratches into the dirt and he clenched his jaw, curling in on himself until his cheek rested against the earth. He was straining against his instincts. He did the only thing he could think of to stop himself, unearthing fistfuls of dirt and stuffing them into his mouth. He did this frantically, rushing, panicking. He choked and felt sick, his throat horribly dry, but it was distraction enough. It was difficult to breathe. His body lost concentration on wanting to devour the red, focusing more on expelling the filth. The decomposition. He kept his eyes trained carefully away from the Green.
It was then that he saw the Singer. The Singer lusted for red as much as he. He could see it in the creature's eyes of red. It lacked that vital red in itself as well, evident in the pale and sallow tone of its skin. Surely, this creature had the same inner turmoil as he did? Yet, it had eaten the dirt-rock... was that the same as what he was doing now? He put more dirt into his mouth, where it could become heavy mud in his belly. He knew a stomach full of brown was much the same as a stomach full of death. Eating dirt would not sustain him. He needed red. He needed... red. He needed RED! ...but he wanted life. He wanted this trust. This primal sort of concern. Caring. Love. A pack or family. A connection between two living beings.
He swallowed another fist-full of dirt.

Dropping to his knees, the vampire stared in horror as the male choked on fistfuls of mud and dirt. With a shout of shock and dismay, the Singer wrapped his arms around the wolf-man's torso, pinning his arms and lifting him up so his feet were off the ground. As a human, he was weaker, so it was not as hard for this vampire to do this... Dirt was not healthy to eat, so he had to take the chance of this male attacking him, or soemthing else... "No! Stop!" He cried, trying not to sound threatening, but was expecting a deal of panic soon... This was all too much.
"Easy, calm down, what is it?" He asked, and could smell the hunger, and thus needed no answer. "Blood..." He murmered, eyes going wide. "Food..." Of course! He was beginning to go mad with a feral instinct! The Singer new it well, though his control was more extended, and his need more lengthy and less frequant... The wolf-man was primal, he could not understand that, but he was trying hard anyway, trying to be patient and control it. He needed to feed this thing, and make him stop gobbling dirt!

Unaware of the danger looming on the horizon of this event, she stepped quickly closer. "Stop, please, don't..." She reached out, trying to catch the hands of the man. Surely, eating dirt wasn't good for him! She didn't notice she could get hurt. So selflessly diving in to help someone, except it wasn't really helping. Maybe she was just making things worse. She gingerly tightened her grip on the hands, if she had caught them. Her emerald gaze watched him with something akin to sorrow.
She was so much smaller than he. Really, she was weaker than both of them by far. This was like walking hand in hand with death, yet she didn't flee. She faced it with bravery, without a thought that one of them might snap. Do anything. She believed they wouldn't. Surely, every creature was good at heart, past instincts. Surely every creature needed love... surely everyone could restrain themselves from harming someone...
Surely...

He was ripped from the earth, ensnared within the strong arms of the Singer. A snarl tore itself from his throat angrily. Did the Singer realize what it was doing?! His muscles tightened and held and though Green had put a hand upon him he didn't even notice. He fought against the hold of the Singer, mindlessly kicking and ripping with his claws through the air and his bond. He was as a wild beast protecting its territory, its prey. Or as a brutal native man, his body strong as a Greek warriors' but browned from generations in the hot sun. In his rage he hacked the Singer down and tore at his pale skin with his claws-- but no. They were only fingers, callused and soft. He looked upon this creature with no recognition in his eyes, a steady growling issuing from his dry throat. He bashed it across its head leaped away from the creature. He gave the land a quick look-about and his eyes caught upon the one with eyes of Green. He fell forward onto all fours and tensed to give chase. Her cheeks- so pink. Her hair... so red. He could smell her blood. Blood. Meat. Food. Sustenance. Life.
His.
He ran forward and was almost upon her when he skidded to a stop, the dirt coming up in clouds of dust around him. The growl stopped as well from behind his bared teeth. And for a moment, just a moment, he seemed to recognize the Green-eyed creature. And then he was running fast, and far. Running. Escaping.
Hunting.
He wanted Red. And he wanted it Now.

The young vampire folded it seemed under the brute beating and bashing. However, that was not the case, as he was too strong and gifted to fold so fast. The singer shoved away, and leaped far, before the blood had time to stop running from his head and body where nailed human fingers and dug at his flesh with less effect then what he knew the wolven thing desired. His feet landed squarely, but his mind was dizzy from the knock he had taken. Getting away from the beast was hard, even if it was only human now... It then snarled, and charged ahead with beating feet, hungry and savage. The Singer's eyes went wide and his lips parted in alarm, before setting to a firm line of resolve. One tiny instant, just before the Singer would have leaped into him to keep him from harming the girl, it stopped... The rampage stopped, and the beast skidded. Eyes wide and realizing, he turned on foreign human feet to run, run far away... So far... "Hunger..." The vampire whispered through his pale lips, which he had not realized had grown even more white. Hair hanging about his features, he looked haggard and alarmed, crusted blood forming on his brown and right cheek from the back he had taken, mane growing clumped and gritty... But the wound had healed already.
